Damage curves: M4 and AK74 across range

The Damage curves chart answers a distance question that a single weapon stat cannot. Plot M4 with 5.56mm and AK74 with 5.45mm against an unarmored middle torso. In the worked 300 m view, M4 shows 28 damage and 0.555 seconds to kill; AK74 shows 26 damage and 0.618 seconds. Both need four modeled shots.

The M4 line stays above the AK74 line across the plotted unarmored-torso range.

Add a second weapon before reading the chart

The default chart can contain one line. Use Add weapon so the graph becomes a comparison, then set Hit zone and Armor + helmet for both. Enter a range to move the vertical marker. The legend identifies each weapon and round; the table below gives exact values at the selected range.

At 300 m both take four shots, while M4's modeled time is 0.063 seconds shorter.

Price the difference

The chart assumes 100 HP, constant-velocity flight, every pellet hitting, fixed armor protection and no reload time. Try a protected target before using an unarmored result for another fight. Copy link preserves the selected lineup, range and target.
