Compare equipment: AK74 or M4?

Put the AK74 and M4 into Compare equipment. The AK74 costs $1,600 and the M4 $2,800. The M4 is listed at 2.92 kg versus 3 kg, fires at 800 versus 650 RPM, and has 500 versus 1,000 m maximum zeroing. The extra $1,200 buys a different set of tradeoffs, not a blanket win.

AK74 saves $1,200. M4 is 0.08 kg lighter and lists a higher fire rate.

Narrow the rows that affect your choice

Use Add equipment for your own shortlist. Differences only hides equal properties so the price, weight, fire rate and zeroing rows stand out. The screenshot below shows another useful difference: AK74's listed 0.825 MOA versus M4's 0.84. A lower number is the tighter listed spread; that small difference alone does not tell you which weapon wins a fight.
